Dissolve 1 TBS. dry yeast in 1½ C. warm water Stir in 1 TBS. honey, 1 tsp salt. Gradually add 4-4½ C. unsifted flour. Knead lightly. Shape into long "ropes" about as large as index finger. Arrange about 1½" apart on greased cookie sheets. Brush top with melted butter and sprinkle 1 of the following: seasoned salt, coarse salt, parmesan cheese, sesame or poppy seeds, herbs, onion or garlic salt, etc. Let rise 15-30 minutes. Bake at 400° for 15 minutes. |
